《同行尋光》—— 關於社工的人種誌劇場

Together in Search of Light - Ethnotheatre on Social Workers

香港劇團一條褲製作曾經以人種誌戲劇的精神，創作《中間人》及《時代記錄者》，分別聚焦地產代理及記者兩個與香港息息相關的行業，為香港劇壇少見。《同行尋光》以社會工作者為主體，透過他們的目光來檢視香港社會與社會工作的關係與發展，期望為同行的香港人提燈引路。

Pants Theatre Production has previously produced Estate Agent and On the Record with the spirit of ethnodrama, focusing respectively on the real estate agents and journalists who are closely related to Hong Kong, but have rarely been featured in the Hong Kong theatre. Social workers are at the forefront of society, facing different levels of the community every day. This time, via the viewpoints of social workers, Together in Search of Light will examine the relationship and development between Hong Kong society and social workers, hoping to search for a better future for fellow Hongkongers.

近年香港社會變化，無論是制度，或者工作環境，社會工作者都面對重重挑戰。《同行尋光》於2021年首演，大獲好評，現以放映方式重溫，重回劇團走訪不同年代與背景的社會工作者的當下，聆聽他們的心聲與故事，理解他們如何處理自身、服務使用者及社會的種種問題，與他們並肩同行，尋找心中明滅不定、卻始終如初的那點光。

In recent years, Hong Kong society has undergone tumultuous changes. Whether in terms of the systems or working environments, social workers have faced tremendous challenges. Premiered in 2021, the acclaimed work Together in Search of Light is now back as a video screening, for us to revisit the interviews with social workers from different generations and backgrounds, to listen to their voices and stories, and understand how they handled various problems related to themselves, service users, and society. Following their steps, we aim to find that flickering light in our hearts that remain unchanged.

《長夜守燈》

Eternal Flame in the Dark

年屆七十的蠟梅，天天晚上靜靜守護一盞孤燈，老伴心感奇怪，但也不便打擾，招來久未回家的女婿，商討如何照顧蠟梅，結果原來需要照顧的另有其人⋯⋯

Lap-mui, who is a 70-year-old woman, has been guarding a candlelight every night. Her husband finds it strange but has never asked her why. He asked their distanced son-in-law to come back home to help looking after Lap-mui. Then it is revealed that it is not Lap-mui who needs being taken care of, but someone else.

照顧者往往是香港社會被忽略的一群，他們除了本身的工作及家庭壓力，還有照顧至親的責任，沉重的壓力無處抒發。「臨終照顧者」更因中國傳統忌諱不談而不易獲得重視，但我們都有機會成為其中一員。

In Hong Kong, carers' needs are often ignored. Apart from their day jobs, they have to take care of their close ones. With all their time being occupied, the heavy stress and burden that have accumulated has no way to be expressed. Carers of dying patients are seriously neglected, since the discussion of death is a taboo in Chinese culture. However, we might become one of them at any time.

一條褲製作走訪了曾作照顧臨終者的過來人、醫護界及社福界人士，由編劇鄭廸琪融會梳理，創作《長夜守燈》。現場舞台版本於2022年首演，錄像版本曾於2021及2024年放映，均廣受好評。本劇情理並重，既包含濃烈情感，亦令社會大眾對此議題有更深認識。

Pants Theatre Production has interviewed carers of dying patients, professionals of the medical field and of social welfare. Interweaving the interviews into a fictional narrative, playwright Tik-ki Cheang created Eternal Flame in the Dark, the stage version of which premiered in 2022, and the video version shown in 2021 and 2024, all to critical acclaim. It is a powerful poetic drama that is both emotionally charged and providing a deeper understanding of this issue in Hong Kong.

“A sincere production, through which the public would learn more about hospice care and death. The story is written beautifully yet realistic. Especially during Covid, it became impossible to visit sick loved ones. This part is very up to date. Besides, in this situation, the practical and emotional support for families and patients are very limited. The play brought comfort to us. We feel that our feelings have been understood. Thank you very much.”
